meh

nice try

MobilizeTerror responds:

thanks.

Very well done

I would object the use of several of the celebrities there, because they're not DICTATORS. Do you even know what "dictator" means?? OK nevermind, I had to give a high score to this game because it was so well made and well programmed, kudos on that. The addition of Britney Spears was hilarious.
But still, the game is a bit unfair because there are actualy only TWO real dictators there. If you ask me, you should really add Yasser Arafat, I'm sure A LOT of people will have lots of pleasure in shooting up his ass.

Armegalo responds:

Not dictators??? That's what you think.

You're free to vote for who you like, but does it actually make any difference? I think not. Western politicians are puppets for the great overlords - Britney Spears, Margret Thatcher and Hitler. Never forget that!

Looking good

but not very original ;)

GROMHELLGROUND responds:

thanks, just wait till pico 1.5 demo 2 with a:
- intro
- storyline
- fresh action gameplay

It was ok

But pointless overall, got boring really quick.

Chen-Baiwan responds:

The actual game will have be MUCH better...There will another enemies and many targets to avoid along with a timer!

Very bad

if you're having so much trouble using Flash, and not knowing how to even work with strings, then trust me, don't ever bother making tutorials.

Platypus007 responds:

.....who ever said i was havin trouble.....

A few suggestions

1. Don't use such poor 3D models. The whole 3D characters idea is not very good in Flash, it just doesn't look good. You rather use drawn vector characters that were drawn in Flash.
2. The coding is good overall, but there are a few problems: It often happens that the character doesn't respond to what the player wants, the whole pace is too slow and because of that the computer enemies are faster and more agile than the player, which is not neccesseraly a good thing.
3. The whole concept is too flatten out. Add more depth to the game by making stuff like things to jump on, power ups to pick up (either scattered around, or dropped from enemies), secret passages to enter through, obstacles to pass, and of course, different enemies (in look, strength, speed, quantity and maybe even AI).
4. The sound wasn't good at all but I guess that's understandable since this is probably an alpha test or something. But make sure sound will be good, realistic and varied in the full game.
5. If you're already getting into that double dragon concept, then you should go with it all the way. Make different levels each one varied with different atmosphere, background, enemies and a boss for each level (varied in strength and strategy every time).
5. Try not to make the game too repetitive, since it's a very common mistake with this kind of games. Make every level different from the other, with different enemies, different bosses with different weapons, AI, strength and strategy. Make the player to try and guess what will be next, instead of letting him know for sure.

forgedbyflash responds:

thank you for your input...keep'em coming!!!!

What in the hell?

Couldn't you find a better reason to kill him?

AzureSt0ne responds:

He didn't have a chair! What better reason to kill him?

This is pathetic

Useless. Not accurate.

Streaming can often boost your file size to the skies, NEVER STREAM ALL YOUR SOUNDS!!!!

Let me explain why:
When you stram sounds, they're added to one big "Stream" sound file, that means one file that holds all the sounds you streamed and it plays them one by one... TWICE. Yes, I don't know why, but all you streamed sounds are recorded TWICE, however their compression IS smaller than normal sounds.
You MUSTN'T use streaming when you REUSE SOUNDS. Every time you stream a sound in your timeline, it is newly added to the "Stream" file, so even if you streamed a certain sound, it will be added again to the "Stream" as a new sound if you stream it again. So if you intend on using a certain sound MORE THAN ONCE, DON'T STREAM IT!!!
------
Streaming is good when you have a large sound file, like music, and you want only its beginning. In such case it's recommended you STREAM your sound because when you stream, the sound is recorded until the next keyframe on the same layer, or until the next scene. It's easy to demonstrate this by comparing it to EVENT:
Lets say we have an EVENT sound playing from frame 1. On frame 15 we have a keyframe on the same layer. When the movie reaches frame 15 the EVENT sound won't stop. It will continue to play until its end, until the end of all loops, or until a "Stopallsounds()" function is called.
Now lets say we STREAM the same sound from frame 1. On frame 15 we have a keyframe on the same layer. When the movie reaches frame 15 the sound stops from playing. But it also STOPS FROM RECORDING. That means that anything you would've heard after frame 15 if you EVENTed the sound, DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE.
----------
Now you understand what Streaming sounds is????

illicit responds:

Not once has streaming my "sounds" ever boosted my file size. Maybe you should try making a new symbol for your sounds and streaming.
False again/ I reused my sounds in this Flash. And there streamed.
Yes streaming is great when using a music file. This is not an advanced tut. It's for beginner's. I get to many questions in How to even find the stream option, so this is showing that.
Okay now....so there's an event within stream, Your False again here.
Go check out my movie Always Coka Cola 2, I used an mp3 as music, and in midway I threw in Event sounds as well. My music is still playing in the background and it was in the same timeline. So that means that after the event the sound does still exist. Reason being I used two layer's of frames. Yay for me!
Note: this is a beginner's tut. I'll make an advanced for ones like you soon.
Thanks for your review,

Very good game

but there's a bug that if you lose to the computer then next time you play even if you win it'll say "You lost to the computer".

Matmi responds:

I don't seem to get this error. Could you give me some more info,i.e. what level you were on, who the characters were.

oh wow

This game is amazing! It's like one of those teenage movies you see on T.V. and the teenage shows! I LOVE the ending!

It was kinda hard, but excellent!

I hated the lack of sound effects tough you did a good job putting the music in!

MadFLeX responds:

yeah, sound effects are hard ya know, everyones got the same ones and some of the stuff i was trying to put sound to was really hard to come by....scooters, punches, things like that. but thanks flatline. see you around the CD or somethin. hehe

Sorry for not continuing my flash series. It appears I've got grown up before I could :) I apologize to all my fans. As soon as I'm 17 again I'll be able to continue Damnation. Or, if I find someone to pay for continuing it instead of me ;).
